AAP MLA Harjot Singh Bains Ties the Knot with IPS Officer Jyoti Yadav in a Sikh Wedding Ceremony

AAP MLA Harjot Singh Bains and IPS officer Jyoti Yadav tied the knot in a Sikh wedding ceremony at the Bibhor Sahib gurudwara near Nangal in Rupnagar district. The couple had recently got engaged and decided to solemnize their marriage according to Sikh rituals.

Bains, who is a first-time legislator from the Anandpur Sahib constituency in Rupnagar district, currently serves as the education minister in Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s government. A 32-year-old advocate by profession, Bains hails from Gambhirpur village in Anandpur Sahib. In the 2017 elections, he had contested unsuccessfully from the Sahnewal constituency. Before joining politics, Bains had led the AAP’s youth wing in the state.Yadav, on the other hand, is a Punjab cadre IPS officer who is currently posted as Superintendent of Police in Mansa district. She hails from Haryana’s Gurugram district and has been serving in the police force for several years.

The wedding ceremony was attended by close family members, friends, and some political colleagues of the couple. The couple exchanged vows and rings in the presence of the holy Guru Granth Sahib and sought blessings from the Almighty for their future together.

The wedding has come as another happy news for the AAP, which has seen several of its leaders tying the knot in the recent past. Last year, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had tied the knot with Gurpreet Kaur, while AAP MLAs Narinder Kaur Bharaj and Narinderpal Singh Sawana had also got married during this time.
