Badshah’s ‘Velvet Flow’ Sparks Religious Outrage; FIR Lodged Over Alleged Obscene References

Rapper Badshah is under fire as his new single ‘Velvet Flow’ becomes the center of a major religious controversy. The Punjab Christian Movement has filed an FIR against the artist, alleging that the song contains obscene references to the Holy Bible and Church, sparking widespread anger within the Christian community.

According to community leaders, the lyrics suggest that reading the Bible is “boring” and that the church is portrayed as a place of fear rather than reverence. These characterizations, said Pastor Gaurav Masih Gill, amount to blasphemy and have deeply offended the religious sentiments of Christian believers.

“This is not just creative liberty—this is sacrilege,” said Pastor Gill, who also urged authorities to take immediate legal action and have the song removed from all platforms to prevent further offense.

The community has accused the rapper of deliberately misrepresenting Christian symbols to gain attention and virality. The FIR includes charges under sections relating to hurting religious sentiments, with the community urging swift police intervention.

As the matter gains traction on social media, supporters and critics have engaged in a heated debate over freedom of expression vs religious sensitivity, while Badshah has yet to issue any public response on the matter.
