BSF has announced a relaxation to allow farmers to access their fields between 8 am and 6 pm

The Border Security Force (BSF) has announced a major relief for farmers in Punjab who cultivate land near the India-Pakistan border. In a significant move, the BSF has extended the farming hours, now allowing farmers to work from 8 AM to 6 PM, instead of the earlier 9 AM to 5 PM slot. The decision was taken during a key meeting held at the Muradwala post in Fazilka, with farmer representatives and BSF officials present.

The move comes in light of the upcoming paddy sowing season and aims to ease the challenges faced by border farmers. BSF Commandant Ajay Kumar stated that the step was taken after considering farmers’ concerns. He also addressed issues like wild boar crop damage from across the border and announced strict guidelines — including restrictions on crop height near fencing and a ban on unnecessary movement near the border.
