Kolkata, April 25: The family of Border Security Force (BSF) jawan P.K. Sahu, who was taken into custody by Pakistan Rangers after accidentally crossing the international border in Punjab, remains on edge as efforts for his release continue.

On Friday, his father, Bholanath Sahu, said the family is anxiously waiting for his return. “My son is serving the country, and I am confident that everything possible is being done to bring him back safely,” he said.

He also confirmed that the commanding officer of his son’s battalion had contacted him late Thursday night. The officer informed the family that a flag meeting had been initiated between BSF officials and their counterparts in the Pakistan Rangers to resolve the matter and facilitate Sahu’s release.

Such flag meetings are a standard diplomatic practice to address and defuse incidents along the border.
