Dera Sacha Sauda Chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Granted 20-Day Parole Ahead of Elections

Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh has been granted a 20-day parole just ahead of the October 5 Assembly elections. The process was expedited by the Election Commission, which gave permission to the Haryana Government to consider his application within half an hour of it being forwarded to the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) for approval. Following the CEO’s go-ahead, the Home Department promptly sent the request to the caretaker Chief Minister, Nayab Singh Saini, for final approval. This rapid movement has led to the near-immediate release of Ram Rahim on parole.

Once the caretaker Chief Minister grants approval, the Divisional Commissioner of Rohtak will seek a report from the district administration regarding Ram Rahim’s intended place of stay during his parole period. The entire process began with Ram Rahim’s initial application to the jail superintendent and has since gathered speed, raising questions about the timing and possible influence on the upcoming elections. The development has become a significant point of discussion, considering the religious and political influence of the Dera Sacha Sauda chief.
