Elon Musk, the CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, has caused a stir on social media after announcing that his pet dog, Floki, will be taking over as the new CEO of Twitter. This unconventional decision comes after Musk fired former CEO Parag Agrawal as soon as he took over the company in a $44 billion deal. Along with Agrawal, Twitter’s legal head Vijaya Gadde and CFO Nel Segal were also let go.
In a tweet that has since gone viral, Musk shared a picture of his Shiba Inu dog, Floki, sitting on the CEO’s chair, wearing a Twitter branded T-shirt with the CEO label on it. The picture also shows documents on the table with Floki’s paw prints on them, and a small laptop with a Twitter logo in front of him.
While some Twitter users are amused by the idea of a dog leading the company, others are criticizing Musk’s decision, questioning the dog’s ability to make important decisions and manage a social media platform. Nonetheless, Musk seems confident in his decision, stating in a tweet that his new CEO is “much better than the ‘other’ guy”.
It remains to be seen how Floki will handle his new role and what changes he will bring to Twitter under his leadership.
