Flipkart Big Billion Days Sparks Outrage as iPhone 16 Orders Get Cancelled

The much-hyped Flipkart Big Billion Days Sale 2025 has landed in controversy after a large number of customers reported that their iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro orders were abruptly cancelled within hours of booking.

At the start of the mega sale, several buyers were able to successfully place orders for the newly launched iPhone 16 series at the advertised discounted prices. Screenshots of successful order confirmations quickly spread across social media, as customers celebrated what they believed was a rare opportunity to purchase Apple’s latest flagship at a lower rate.

However, excitement soon turned to disappointment. By Tuesday morning, reports began to flood in that Flipkart had cancelled the majority of these orders, citing “technical issues” or “stock unavailability.” Customers received cancellation messages despite their payments being processed, sparking widespread outrage online.

Angry buyers took to Twitter (X), Instagram, and Facebook to accuse the e-commerce giant of misleading advertising and running what they described as a “scam.” Many argued that if Flipkart did not have sufficient stock, the company should not have allowed orders to go through in the first place. Others claimed that this was not the first time Big Billion Days sales had faced backlash over sudden cancellations and price manipulations.

The controversy has once again raised questions about transparency and accountability in online festive season sales. Consumer rights groups have already begun demanding an official explanation, while some customers have hinted at filing complaints with India’s consumer courts and e-commerce regulators.
