On this occasion Giani Harpreet Singh, Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib addressed the Sikh Sangat and stated that every Sikh should carry a licensed weapon. The statement made by Giani Harpreet Singh, Jathedar of Sri Akal Takhat Sahib is much talked about. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has objected to the Jathedar’s statement.
He tweeted, “Honorable Jathedar Sri Akal Takhat Sahib Ji, listen to your statement about weapons. Jathedar Sahib, let us give the message of peace, brotherhood and modern progress in Punjab and not of modern weapons.
