The application for anticipatory bail was made on the grounds that Master Salim has been fully cooperative with the investigative authorities. As noted by his counsel, Advocate Pankaj Sharma, the singer has been diligently appearing before the police, and thus there remains no requisite for his arrest in the ongoing probe.
It’s worth noting that Master Salim had previously secured a stay of arrest in connection with the same matter, suggesting that the court was already taking into consideration the merits of his case.
The charges against Salim stem from comments made about Maa Chintapurni at the revered Dera Baba Murad Shah in Nakodar. Following his remarks, a case was registered against him under sections 438 and 295-A of the Indian Penal Code at the Guraya police station.
