New traffic rule in Punjab: Violation will lead to suspension of license and challan, blood donation, teaching in school

According to the new traffic rules issued by the state government, mandatory blood donation, monetary fine and temporary suspension of license will be imposed as a punishment for driving over the speed limit, drinking and driving or driving under the influence of drugs.1,000 rupees will have to be paid as the first fine for driving a high speed vehicle. Also, the license will be suspended for three months. Drunk driving will result in suspension of license for three months and Rs 5,000 as fine.

Not only this, 2,000 fine for overspeeding and again the license will be suspended for three months. Whereas, drunk driving will attract a fine of Rs 10,000 in addition to suspension of license. Moreover, for every crime, at least 20 students of class 9th to 12th will have to be taught for at least two hours in a nearby school. They will then be issued a certificate by a nodal officer which will be verified by the authorities at the time of payment of fine . Apart from this, the offenders will have to do community service for at least two hours in the nearest hospital or donate at least one unit of blood in the nearest blood bank. License suspension and monetary fine is mandatory.
