India’s military leadership released critical details of Operation Sindoor during a briefing by the Directors General of Military Operations (DGMOs) and senior air and naval officers. The event included a compelling visual presentation of Indian Air Force targets and the wreckage of Pakistani aerial assets, portraying India’s firm and technologically advanced response to cross-border aggression.
Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai, DGMO, opened the briefing by explaining the shifting nature of terrorism and its growing focus on soft civilian targets. “In recent years, we have seen a clear change in tactics. Innocents were being attacked… Pahalgam tak paap ka ye ghada bhar chuka tha,” he remarked, referring to the Pahalgam attack as a turning point.
He delivered a powerful analogy by invoking cricketing legend Virat Kohli and an old Ashes proverb: “If you see the layers, you’ll understand what I’m trying to say. Even if you crossed all the layers, one of the layers of this grid system will hit you.”
Air Marshal AK Bharti presented a composite map of IAF strike points and elaborated on the performance of India’s indigenous counter-drone systems. “Pakistan’s waves of drones and UCAVs were thwarted by our soft and hard kill technologies. The Akash system performed with excellence,” he noted, adding, “This was a different kind of warfare, a cat-and-mouse game, and we need to stay ahead of the curve.”
The military also showcased debris of the Chinese-made PL-15 air-to-air missile and Turkish-origin drones, calling out Pakistan’s growing military dependencies on foreign technologies, which were “effectively neutralised” by Indian defence forces.
Reassuring the nation, Air Marshal Bharti affirmed, “All our military bases and systems continue to remain fully operational and ready for any future missions.”
The briefing projected India’s multi-domain readiness and reflected a larger strategic doctrine built on layered defence, indigenous innovation, and political backing. As tensions simmer, India’s military continues to send a clear signal: the country is prepared, vigilant, and unwavering in defending its sovereignty.
