The parents of the late Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala have been demanding justice for their son’s murder and have been sitting on a protest outside the Punjab Vidhan Sabha. Balkaur Singh, the father of Sidhu Moosewala, expressed his disappointment with the lack of progress in the case and stated that he has been forced to protest as nothing is going in his favor.
Singh highlighted that his son was a world-famous personality, yet the government has not been responsive to their demands for justice. Singh also stated that although the shooters responsible for Sidhu’s murder have been arrested, the conspirators behind the crime are still at large. He alleged that the testimonies of those arrested are being destroyed, and the lack of progress in the case is leading to frustration and fear.
Singh further added that it has been 11 months since his son’s murder, and the challan (charge sheet) has not been submitted yet. He expressed his anger that despite living in a free country, they are receiving constant threats and fear that they will be killed before April 25.
The sit-in protest by the parents of Sidhu Moosewala highlights the need for justice and accountability in cases of violence against public figures. The lack of progress in the case and the alleged threats faced by the family raises serious concerns about the safety and security of individuals who speak out against injustice. The government must take swift action to ensure that justice is served, and the perpetrators of the crime are held accountable.
