Punjab and Haryana High Court Grants Divorce, Citing Wife’s Derogatory Remarks as Cruelty

The Punjab and Haryana High Court recently granted a divorce decree, taking into account testimony that highlighted the wife’s derogatory behavior towards her husband. The husband’s mother testified that the wife would frequently insult her son by calling him a ‘h!jra.’ The court deemed such remarks as an act of cruelty, leading to the approval of the divorce.

Adding to the case, the husband revealed that his wife made unreasonable demands related to their intimate life, insisting that s*x should last at least 15 minutes and occur three times a night. The court considered these factors in their decision, determining that the wife’s actions and expectations amounted to cruelty, justifying the termination of the marriage.
