In a shocking turn of events, Jasneet Kaur, a popular social media influencer with over 131,000 followers on Instagram, and her two unidentified accomplices, have been arrested for extortion, criminal intimidation, and criminal conspiracy. The arrests were made after Gurbir Singh, a 33-year-old resident of Model Town, filed a complaint with the police.Sub-inspector Gurshinder Kaur, SHO at police station Model Town, confirmed that the three accused have been booked under sections 384 (extortion), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code on Saturday.Gurbir claimed to have received calls from an unidentified number on WhatsApp on November 16, 2022, wherein the accused tried to extort money from him and threatened to harm him and his family members. Upon investigating the matter himself, Gurbir found that the two aides of Kaur were behind the threats. He subsequently filed a complaint with the police on January 19.

Interestingly, this is not the first time Kaur has been in trouble with the law. She was previously arrested by the Kharar police in September 2022 for honey trapping the complainant. After securing bail in that case, Kaur and her accomplices allegedly demanded ₹2 crore from Gurbir, claiming to have recorded an audio conversation between them. However, the deal was later settled at ₹35 lakh, out of which Gurbir had already paid ₹1 lakh to the accused. The Kharar police managed to arrest the accused when they came to collect the remaining ₹34 lakh from the complainant. The case has garnered significant attention due to Kaur’s social media presence, and authorities are currently conducting further investigations into the matter.
