Tragic Accident in Bareilly: Car Plunges into Ramganga River, Claims Three Lives

In a heart-wrenching incident in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, a car carrying three passengers plunged into the Ramganga River, leading to the tragic loss of all occupants, including two brothers. The accident occurred when the vehicle unknowingly drove onto an under-construction bridge that had been left incomplete following heavy rains last year. The driver, reportedly relying on Google Maps for navigation, failed to recognize the barricaded and unfinished road ahead in the darkness, resulting in the fatal plunge.

Witnesses revealed that the bridge had remained incomplete for months, with little to no visible warning signs to deter drivers. As the car approached, Google Maps mistakenly directed the vehicle towards the damaged structure, which ended abruptly just 30 meters in. With limited visibility and no clear indicators of the bridge’s condition, the driver was unable to stop in time. This tragedy highlights the need for better infrastructure maintenance and clearer warning systems, as well as the potential risks of over-reliance on navigation apps without cross-verifying road conditions.
